"Island of Emotion" represents an exploration of Rodrigues Island's culture and history. Utilising a constrasting palette of colours, intricate textural elements, and compelling forms I have tried to convey its narrative. The volcanic landscapes that define Rodrigues are portrayed not merely as geological phenomena but as elements that have sculpted the islanders' identities and way of life.
Through the abstractionist approach, the artwork captures the interplay of colours that characterize a path that in old the days we use to take to go from one place to another before roads were built. This visual reminder serves as a footnote to the islanders' cultural diversity and their unified identity as 'Kreol.'
